Man…Last Night Was Psych-otic!
Last night was insane! I got a chance to attend this crazy slumber party and you won’t believe the madness that ensued. There was food, pineapple inspired beverages, and lots and lots of tweeting. Oh and did I mention that this slumber party was held in many different places across the world at the same time? Now before you have me committed for being a Psych-O let me explain.
A few weeks ago I brought you the story about Psych Season 7 coming to a television near you February 27th. The kind folks at USA Network came up with the bright idea to have a slumber party in honor of the hit shows return. Give them all raises! The party was set to feature some of Psych’s more iconic moments during a 6 hour marathon starting at 12am and ending at 6am with live on-air tweets from Psych-Os around the world. A “Psych-O”(for anyone living under a rock for the past 20 years) is someone who is a fan of the show and I mean come on…how could you not be? We’ll save that conversation for another day.
Finally the big day arrives. I sign up to receive a phone call from Shawn and Gus when the party’s about to start and I’m in the zone ready to tweet to my little hearts content. Now as embarrassing as it is to say this…I’m new to twitter – like barely 3 weeks in new(I know, I know) – so I didn’t know what to expect. My instructions were simple, tweet @Psych_Usa using #PsychSlumberParty as the tag to get my tweet noticed and hopefully retweeted on-air. OH MY GOD! Myself as well as millions of other Psych-Os we’re tweeting non-stop. I lost a few followers, Twitter Jail had to release people because they were over capacity from all the over tweeting, and it was soooooo much fun to connect with everyone worldwide! I even got a follow and mention by @Psych_USA which was the highlight of my evening(You know that’s right!). It was a HUGE honor to be recognized by my favorite TV show.
As 6am came around the party began to quite down and I peacefully dozed off computer still in hand. When I woke up I was surprised to see that even though the party was no more, the marathon was over, and I was sprawled out on the floor, Psych-Os around the world were still connecting and recalling their favorite Psych moments hours later. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever been apart of. Thanks USA Network for an awesome morning!
